"Located in Big Bear Lake in the San Bernardino Mountains, this boutique lodging is a curated collection of eight refurbished, design-forward cabins created by husband-and-wife duo Sara and Sven Simon. Each cottage features distinct mountaineer-inspired decor and family names like Fran’s Flat, Lucille’s Manor, and Otto’s Chalet; cabins range from two to four bedrooms/bathrooms and are ideal for group trips. The largest, Orville’s Lodge, sleeps up to 14 guests, spans over 3,000 square feet, and includes a game room with foosball and shuffleboard plus an outdoor cedar hot tub and picnic-table deck. All cabins come with fully equipped kitchens, gas fireplaces, posh bed linens, complimentary coffee, and cozy living areas; interiors blend checker-tile floors, floral- and leaf-printed wallpapers, and vintage portraits with guestrooms that have plush queen beds, upholstered headboards, contemporary lighting, and colorful brickyard-motif walls. Outdoor and on-site amenities—patio barbecues, horseshoes, a resident hammock—make it easy to relax after skiing or exploring the lake, with nightly rates starting around $495 and reaching about $1,995."
