"Barbecuein Central Texas usually meanslong linesandworld-class brisket. Jim’s Smokehouse is not that. It’s a food truck outside Rock House Bar nearThe Oasis, and it’s more about convenience than bragging rights. The menu covers the classics—brisket, ribs, pulled pork, turkey—but also veers into evening bar-snack territory with brisket-stuffed baked potatoes, loaded mac and cheese, and pulled pork tacos. Most of the barbecue runs a little dry, but it’s a reliable option when you need something heavy to pair with a cold beer. If you’re planning to catch the sunset at The Oasis, consider stopping here first so you can safely tell your server “just drinks for me” since the food up there will, quite frankly, leave you feeling sad." - Nicolai McCrary
