"56709 replaces the Canto pop-themed bar 929 in Long Island City. It’s run by the same people (who also run snack bar Gulp, which is in front of the bar), but switches up the source of inspiration to Japanese City Pop. You can listen to retro music, drink cocktails, plum wine, or a grapefruit soda spritz, and snack on fried oysters. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Will Hartman
