"Olive & Rose is a peaceful slice of Palm Springs in the middle of Downtown Long Beach. This relaxed French-leaning bistro from the Heritage folks sits on the ground floor of a revamped mid-century motel, with tables gazing onto a courtyard pool and retro parasols. You’d never guess this was a hotel restaurant, though. It oozes the kind of easy charm found at a proper date night spot. Start with the artfully arranged amberjack crudo that has little spheres of grape and cucumber, then split the steak frites with a ribeye cap that melts like soft butter and a cute bowl of crispy fries.
