"Real peri-peri heads know that the Nando’s in Gatwick is the only outpost of the Portuguese chain in the UK and Ireland that serves a breakfast menu. And it’s decent. The chicken benedict is a little sloppy, but still our go-to whenever we’re flying out of the South Terminal. Sliced bolo do caco gets topped with sweet chilli jam, spinach, chicken in a peri-peri hollandaise, and spicy, salt-dusted poached eggs. The pancakes are pretty good, too. But other than serving those breakfast items, this place looks like a Nando’s and operates like a Nando’s. If you’ve done battle with a Thameslink train to get here, ask for a seat at the back with a view of planes at their gate, sink into banquette seating, and take comfort in the familiar. photo credit: Daisy Meager photo credit: Daisy Meager photo credit: Daisy Meager photo credit: Daisy Meager photo credit: Daisy Meager" - Daisy Meager
