"This Dongbei-style diner is somewhat out of the way but worth the trek. A casual spot, it’s perfect for a lowkey dinner with a group of friends before heading to the popular concert venue Alcatraz nearby. Their cold starch noodles are good, but the best thing on the menu is the yi guo chu, a bubbling chicken stew served in a massive iron pot with soft wheat and corn rolls that are perfect for soaking up the rich broth. You’ll also find a fridge stocked with vacuum-sealed smoked meats right by the bar, which serves Italian-style coffee all day." - Elizabeth De Filippo-Jones
