"Bavarian Grill has been Plano’s place to prost since it opened in 1993: German food, waitstaff in dirndls and lederhosen, live polka music, and a model train that chugs along the dining room ceiling. We usually order the schnitzel, smothered in mushroom gravy and served with buttery spaetzle. The sausages are great too, so large that the ends spill over the plate (and the sauerkraut on the side, made with pineapple juice, is deliciously sweet and sour). Make a special trip here during white asparagus season, when they serve colossal, tender spears wrapped in smoked salmon and ladled with Hollandaise sauce." - erin booke
