Homeslice Review - Lincoln Park - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Homeslice isn’t reinventing the wheel. It’s a simple spot with all the makings of a great pizza joint, and an even better place to hang with friends. But what makes Homeslice (as well as its sister restaurant, Happy Camper) such a crowd pleaser is the atmosphere - these guys know how to create an impressive space. At Homeslice, that space involves an excellent patio, comfortable couches and tables big enough for large groups, and catchy signs like “Be Awesome” or “I could give up pizza, but I’m not a quitter.” There are a ton of pizza options, including the option to make your own. There are enough appetizers like bread sticks or jalapeño poppers to get things rolling. And there are some salads too, because even though ordering salad at a pizza restaurant is stupid, it’ll help justify everything else you’re about to eat. In a town that likes to argue about pizza, nobody is arguing over Homeslice. It’s not divisive like deep dish or thin crust - Homeslice is just regular, quality pizza, served in a great space. Where would be without pizza? Who knows, but that’s why we’re glad places like Homeslice make it so we never have to find out. Food Rundown Jalapeño Homies Jalapeño poppers with cream cheese, bacon, cheddar, and bbq. Always a strong starter. Mixed Greens Salad The basic starter salad we like to go with. Comes with tomatoes, red onions, olives, feta, and a gorgonzola vinaigrette. photo credit: @chicagofoodauthority Pizza There are more than 30 pizza options listed on the menu, and that’s not even including the fact you can make your own. Just make sure you order enough pizza, whether it’s a basic pepperoni, BBQ chicken, or something weird with pineapple and other meats." - Sam Faye
