"Formerly known as Bird On The Roof, The Bird is sunny, chill restaurant seemingly made for folks who miss the city’s busy all-day eateries. On the front and back patios, people spend the morning eavesdropping while nursing a mimosa, or curing a hangover with fluffy buttermilk blueberry pancakes. The smashburgers start just after dawn. But the restaurant, which is extension of Daunt’s Albatross Inn across the street, offers more than just weekend brunch. A dinner menu melds Montauk favorites with some Japanese flair. Their lobster knuckles and claws served in brown butter with furikake are a treat, and the $43 wagyu sando on smushy milkbread is worth the splurge, especially if you’re planning on partying into the night." - Melissa Kravitz Hoeffner
