"It’s a boutique hotel by any definition, but it’s safe to say the Stewart House, open since 1883, isn’t exactly a modern, minimalist design hotel. Located in Athens, NY, a historic community on the Hudson River just two hours from New York City (and right across the river from the city of Hudson), the Stewart House feels both elegant and accessible, historic but never stuffy. The hotel’s nine rooms and suites combine well-chosen antiques with contemporary touches, and they’ve got luxe details like locally made bath products and Sferra linens and robes. Meanwhile there’s an Art Deco bar, a farm-to-table tavern, and a waterfront grill (open seasonally Thursday through Sunday), and the hotel places you right on the riverside, at one end of Athens’s walkable main street." - Tablet Hotels
