"How did it strike you on arrival?In typical Kimpton fashion, this beachfront resort comes on strong with the summer camp vibes. The bright and airy lobby feels more like a boutique hotel, filled with bikes, rustic, wood-hewn furniture, and leafy green plants. Additionally, the location can't be beat: The hotel is located directly across the street from the Huntington Beach pier. Nice. What’s the crowd like?It draws a diverse mix of families, couples, and solo travelers. The good stuff: Tell us about your room.Rooms have views of either the hotel's lively courtyard or of the beach. Many have balconies overlooking the ocean. Not surprisingly, the decor is California-cool, with shades of blue juxtaposed against crisp white linens. The bathrooms here are massive—and immensely relaxing, as many have soaking tubs. Room service and food: Worth it?The Pacific Hideaway restaurant serves American food with coastal infusions—expect dishes like ceviche bathed in coconut milk and served in a half-shell. Coffee is always available in the lobby, and the wine happy hour is a Kimpton staple. At night, the courtyard turns into a lively party, with s'mores passed around the firepit and rowdy, wine-fueled games of cornhole. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you.There's no pool, but beach chairs and towels are provided. Beach cruisers are free for riding up and down the boardwalk, and the well-equipped gym even includes a climbing wall. Bottom line: Worth it, and why?The location can't be beat.
