"I'm excited that a Washington, D.C.-based Mediterranean fast-casual chain, Cava, is opening its first Dallas-area location next week as part of Plano’s Legacy West: it's slated to open on May 8 and will operate daily from 10:45 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Fans are drawn to its customizable bowls—bowls packed with spicy lamb meatballs, cauliflower quinoa tabbouleh, and “Crazy Feta”—which can be filled with options like “greens and grains,” roasted vegetables, or braised lamb or beef and topped with sumac radishes and lemon herb tahini dressing; fresh juices and pita chips can also be added. Cava already has more than 75 locations nationwide, and on opening day the Plano restaurant will donate a portion of sales to Minnie’s Food Pantry and accept customer donations for the local charity." - Adele Chapin
