"An acclaimed Kerns-neighborhood pizzeria, Ken’s Artisan Pizza was opened in 2006 by James Beard Award–winner Ken Forkish and is known for wood-fired 12-inch pies made with slow-fermented dough and hand-stretched mozzarella. Forkish sold the restaurant to Carina Lounge owner Peter Kostin in 2022 upon his retirement, and the same Le Panyol oven from the Portland location will be used at a 2,800-square-foot second location opening this November in downtown Bend’s historic Downing Hotel building. Recently named the fifth best pizzeria in the United States in 2024 by Naples-based 50 Top Pizza, Ken’s Artisan Pizza Bend will be located at 1033 NW Bond Street." - Janey Wong
