"One of the most exciting Eugene openings of 2024, Yardy, is located inside a charming residential house-turned-restaurant just east of the downtown core. Fans of former resident, the Vintage, will feel right at home in the intimate space, which offers two levels of indoor seating and a dreamy covered patio area for alfresco dining. Plan to place your order at the counter for everything from crispy pan-fried chicken (the best fried chicken in the area) to turmeric doubles topped with a sinus-clearing melange of chickpea curry and chutney from chef Isaiah Martinez. With more space to spread out, Martinez can play a bit more with the menu, which leans heavily on local ingredients, so expect to see things rotate out seasonally to highlight diverse flavors of the Caribbean. Also on board is a full bar with cocktails grounded in rum. Plan to place an order at the counter before taking a seat; you’ll want to share a few of the dishes with the table.
