"Two veterans of the restaurant industry, Anderson Clark and Brian Douglass, have chosen Hillcrest for their first solo project: a new 5th Avenue eatery called Common Stock. Having met while working for the Hillstone Restaurant Group, and with Clark more recently helping to launch Catch in West Hollywood, they want to apply fine-dining knowledge to a casual counter-and-table service spot. Scheduled for late summer after a mostly cosmetic redesign described as “Copenhagen meets downtown New York City,” the menu will focus on nostalgic American favorites—burgers, sandwiches, and hot dogs—reimagined with updated presentations and global ingredients; the menu is still in development but the team has been posting potential dishes on Instagram.
