"I learned that North Fork Roasting Company, launched in 2015, is a popular Long Island coffee roaster and restaurant run by married duo Jenni Lee and Jess Morris; they were briefly in talks with Ken Friedman about a new project and he had applied for a liquor license with them, and Jess confirmed those discussions to Eater. After social-media criticism when the partnership news emerged, the pair issued a statement saying, “After thoughtful consideration, we’ve decided against moving forward with this venture and instead, will continue to focus our efforts on our current business, North Fork Roasting Company.” The shop has gained popularity since its launch and even received a nod from Eater critic Robert Sietsema, who said the coffee there was every bit as good as anything found in Brooklyn." - Carla Vianna
