"The 500-acre, biodynamically-farmed Momtazi Vineyards is often regarded as one of the best in the valley, planted by Iran-born Moe Momtazi in the late ’90s; a number of high-profile wineries boast Momtazi on their label. But the Momtazi property is also home to Maysara, the winery that Moe, his wife Flora, and three daughters Hanna, Naseem, and Tahmiene helm together — an opportunity to taste the wines as their growers see them. The focus here is almost entirely on estate pinot noir. Many wines are named after Persian history and legends, and the winery also produces the Three Degrees label, created by the three Momtazi daughters. The winery is open daily from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Reservations can be made online; call to check for same-day tastings." - Katherine Chew Hamilton
