"Originally revealed back in 2018, the first craft beer brewery to debut in North Las Vegas is North 5th Brewing Co., which will operate out of 60 Mayflower Ave., five miles north of downtown in an industrial neighborhood near Fifth Street. Owned by Amanda Payan and her brother, Matt, the brewery's new head brewer, Patrick Tofte, previously held the same position at Fremont Street’s very popular Banger Brewing. Initial plans call for a 10-barrel brewing system producing about 1,000 barrels a year inside a 7,439-square-foot building, plus a 1,100-square-foot brew pub with room for roughly 85 customers and a small store selling branded goods and apparel. The brewery promises a membership program for repeat customers and plans to serve growlers to go, crowlers, and cans filled and sealed on site; Amanda Payan had hoped for a late 2021 arrival, the City of North Las Vegas is expected to approve its liquor manufacturing and sales license this week, and the team will be pouring at Henderson’s Water Street Oktoberfest on October 16." - Bradley Martin
