"Opening on October 4 at 601 N. Pacific Coast Highway in Redondo Beach, the Slice & Pint brings El Segundo Brewing’s pizzeria-brewpub formula to a space that seats over 100 and includes a breezy patio where executive chef Andrew Fujii turns out New York City–style pies. Nearly everyone’s there for the wide, thin-crust pizzas—classics like Ezzo pepperoni and cheese, build-your-own options, and signatures such as vodka sauce with spicy capicola and the “Surfin’ Bird” with rapini, chicken sausage, and red onions—and the kitchen earned second place for its cheese slice at last year’s Pizza Expo. The menu mixes neighborhood pizzeria fare with gastropub influences (fried cauliflower, fried Brussels sprouts, arugula salad) and also features loaded meatballs, Italian deli-style submarine sandwiches, garlic knots, wings, fried calamari, and chopped salads. Quick, affordable $5–$6 slices are available alongside a Detroit-style square pizza with a proper crispy cheese edge, 12-inch gluten-free pizzas with the same toppings, and a $52 “Fancy Family Meal” (full signature pie, chopped Italian salad, five meatballs, and cheesy bread). Desserts include a salted caramel cookie topped with ice cream or bread pudding slathered in imperial stout caramel, and the beverage list includes plenty of El Segundo Brewing beers on tap; hours are 11:30 a.m.–10 p.m. Sunday–Thursday and until 11 p.m. Friday–Saturday." - Matthew Kang
