"One of Los Angeles’s most popular street taco stands has opened its first permanent location in Anaheim, California. Taquero Angel, who uses only his first name publicly, opened the first location outside of John’s Market in North Hollywood in 2018 and has since expanded with locations in Van Nuys, Echo Park, Glassell Park, and more. L.A. Taco first reported news of the opening, which Angel’s shared on Instagram on April 8; the Anaheim location is already open and serving customers and will be celebrated with a grand opening on April 12 where it will serve $1.50 tacos, free churros, and aguas frescas. One of the busiest outposts has been the Echo Park stand on Sunset Boulevard, just down the road from Dodger Stadium — on game night “the line stretches down the block with a mob of guests hungry for al pastor shaved off a flame-kissed trompointo waiting tortillas.” The stands offer cheese-grilled quesatacos, mulitas, burritos, and vampiros, all packed with the diner’s choice of protein — pollo, asada, cabeza, and chorizo — and a salsa bar with salsa verde, cilantro, onions, and more. The Anaheim storefront will feature all the classics from the stands plus gringas tacos with al pastor, ham, and pineapple; alambre; and Mexican beers to wash it down. Located just a few miles from Disneyland and open until midnight every day, it’s positioned as an easy, affordable, and late-night dining option for the neighborhood." - Rebecca Roland
