"A steak-and-seafood concept from Dallas restaurateur Joseph Palladino is slated to open in Grand Central in the spring. Palladino, a Bronx-born former NYPD officer who was injured in the line of duty decades ago, pivoted to the restaurant world by managing a venue at Yonkers Raceway (then owned by the Rooney family) before moving on to Las Vegas and Dallas, where he opened businesses including Dos Jefes and Nick and Sam’s Steakhouse. Nick and Sam’s, open since 1999, has been a celebrity hotspot with sightings of the likes of Jimmy Kimmel, Matthew McConaughey, and Jaime Foxx. He’s taking over the space that had been home to Michael Jordan Steakhouse, which closed in 2018. The chef will be Sam Hazen, formerly at Tao for over a decade, and Rockwell Group is handling the design." - Melissa McCart
