"After the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, I learned that the St. Paul bakery run by Rachel Anderson and Yoji Moro pledged to donate an entire week's customer sales to the National Network of Abortion Funds; they had earlier fundraised for Family Tree Clinic at the farmers market and received a massive outpouring of support. Anderson, a pastry chef who previously worked at Bellecour, Revival, and Birchwood Cafe and who has long volunteered with abortion-access groups, says the decision motivated their action. They pay their employees a salary and offer paid family leave, and they encourage supporters to preorder pies for their Mill City Farmers Market stand (they often sell out) or pick up at the St. Paul location Tuesday through Friday." - Justine Jones
