"Originally opened in 2018 by siblings Cathy and Hung Do to share sweet recipes their mother made, SugarLab sold gelato, bubble tea, and sweet bubble waffles in Georgetown but struggled with winter rent despite strong summer business, prompting the younger Cathy to pivot to pho using her mom’s recipe.
