"Following in the trend of upscale Indian dining, this fine dining restaurant at Atlantic Station will replace Italian restaurant Allora in the Twelve Midtown residential and hotel building and serve dishes from Bihar, Kashmir, Goa, Rajasthan, Kerala, and Himachal Pradesh. In addition to a regular menu, it will feature a 30-seat chef’s tasting room with a nine-course tasting menu led by chef Yugal Sharma, currently the assistant master chef at the Royal Afghan, ITC Grand Bharat, and Bukhara at Hotel Maurya in New Delhi. The beverage program, led by Arvind Poojari of Pippal in Emeryville, California, will include a global wine list and cocktails inspired by the spice markets, botanicals, and coastal regions of India, infusing flavors like cardamom, tamarind, kokum, and rose into classic cocktails. Designed by Nitin Khobe of Chromed Design Studio, the space is depicted in renderings with warm tones and a dramatic central lighting fixture at the bar, pendant lights resembling woven baskets, wavy wall designs that make the room feel airy, large tufted seating lining the dining room, circular doorways and sculptures that reveal new sections, and ample outdoor patio seating looking onto Atlantic Station shops. Nods to India are incorporated through brass, woven fabrics, arched windows, and greenery throughout, and the bar will see a complete transformation as part of the new concept. It is slated to open soon, with updates shared via Instagram, and is positioned to add fresh air to Atlantic Station after a series of major closures in the complex." - Henna Bakshi
