"I found the brewery's official response emphatic: Scofflaw Brewing Co. pinned the blame on U.K. PR firm Frank PR, calling the morning's posts "inaccurate" and demanding the agency take accountability after an initial press release—later retracted by Frank—promoted free drinks to Trump supporters at BrewDog's U.K. sites. Owner Matt Shirah called the original release "absolute nonsense," insisted it was sent without his consent or review, labeled it "fiction," and emphasized that "no one at Scofflaw Brewing or those associated with our brand, is now — or has ever been, rooted in hate. We do not tolerate hate — that's just idiotic." The statement also touted the brewery's "hard work" and "humble beginnings," said it could "care less about your political viewpoint, only if you like our beer," and noted the partnership with BrewDog (dating to 2017) to ship Basement IPA and POG (passionfruit, orange and guava) to BrewDog's 36 U.K. locations; Scofflaw also brews and cans some beers at BrewDog’s Ohio facility. Scofflaw declined to comment on the future of the partnership." - Beth McKibben
