"Opening Tuesday, October 30 at 11 a.m., the first freestanding Shake Shack in Minnesota will open on France Avenue outside Southdale mall in Edina; I learned the 5,108-square-foot restaurant will serve the burgers and crinkle fries it's famous for while adding local flavor to its shakes. The frozen custard concretes will include a flavor called Pie! Oh, My! that comes with a slice of Cafe Latte pie, and other local flavors will feature beer from Summit, Lift Brewery, Badger Hill Brewery, Grain Belt, and Brau Brothers Brewing Co. The location will also include an outdoor covered patio with games and added seating. Created in New York by hospitality giant Danny Meyer, Shake Shack has grown from a single stand to more than 180 locations worldwide, including roughly 70 international locations in Tokyo, Seoul, Dubai, and Moscow, and the company plans to debut next year in Mexico and Shanghai." - Joy Summers
