"Savory cocktails aren’t new, but something shifted in Bangkok’s cocktail scene when Bar Us opened. They started to rack up a ton of awards internationally, and it seems like many spots around the city became more daring with their savory options as a result. The menu is divided into sections labeled starters, mains, afters, and all night, each exploring ingredients seen in restaurants. Combos include beef and onion, almond and ylang-ylang flowers, and more. The seats are arranged so that you sit opposite other people at the bar, and a light shines from above at the table in front of you. All of that makes the setting feel like you’re anywhere but a bar. Are we at a pharmacy? An omakase? Is the bartender Marie Laveau and we’re the ingredients? All we know is the cocktails are well-balanced, and hard to compare to any we’ve had. photo credit: Willem Deenik photo credit: Willem Deenik photo credit: Willem Deenik photo credit: Willem Deenik Pause Unmute" - Vichayuth Chantan
