"If you thought that a little happening seaside town in Kent is safe from the influences of New York’s eating culture then you would be very wrong. Nowhere is safe. And also, nowhere isn’t improved by the presence of bagels. Sub Rosa in Margate specialises in NYC-style bagels—meaning crispy crusts and soft interiors packed with fillings. For the most part, it does a half-decent impression. The bagels (a little downsized by NYC standards) have a crisp exterior and the lox, filled with salmon, cream cheese, and a skimpy handful of capers and red onion, hits all the marks.
