"Forget the now-touristy Les Deux Moulins (famous from Amélie). Le Mansart is the local’s choice for French café vibes. Snag a leather stool at the copper bar or a coveted spot on the sidewalk terrace, and dig into the lunch prix fixe that’s an even better deal than a Maxi Best Of at McDo: two courses for €12 or three (plus a drink) for €18. And the dishes, like steak tartare with a mountain of thin-cut pommes allumettes, and haddock brandade seasoned generously with dill and red onion, have no business being so tasty. Come evening, Le Mansart transforms into a buzzy bar where you’ll invariably need to elbow-jockey to get a spot. It makes it harder to enjoy the small plates, but you’ll be hard-pressed to find cheaper natural wines anywhere else in the city." - Emily Monaco
