"Columbus is a big pizza town with its very own style: square-cut pies with cracker-crisp crust and edge-to-edge toppings. Paulie Gee’s is not that (nor is it a slice shop), but it does make excellent Neapolitan pizzas with Columbus’s own Ezzo pepperoni and chewy, leopard-print crusts baked in a domed Stefano Ferrara oven. Paulie Gee’s loves a salty-sweet marriage, like the Hellboy® with spicy soppressata and hot honey. Or you could go for a salad on your pie with the arugula-topped Greenpointer. It’s also one of the better vegan options in town with pizzas like the Vegan Supreme, whose slightly nutty cashew ricotta could make a believer out of almost any cheese lover. Get there before 6pm if you don’t want to wait in line—and that way you can make the most of happy hour, when the all-Ohio drafts are half-off. As of early 2025, the pizzeria serves lunch, too." - Erin Edwards
