Some of my favorite Portland / Beaverton spots I'd like to share. (:

Pip's Original

Donut shop · Cully

My all time favorite little mom and pop shop for yummy bite-sized donuts. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I have never had a bad seasonal flavor from them, on top of their divine staples. Coffee and chai is good too to pair with the donuts!

Deadstock Coffee

Coffee roasters · Chinatown

Literally some dope ass coffee. There's no menu, so either ask them to surprise you or they can come up with basically anything you want. Staff are so friendly and fun to chat with. They also have some sick kicks on display. Just a warning, there's no seating so it's more grab-n-go.

Two Stroke Coffee

Coffee Shop · St. Johns

They recently remodeled! Not sure if they still do, but they used to have multiple motorbikes on display that were cool to look at. Staff are so nice and make great coffee drinks. Nice, quiet place to enjoy some coffee and chat with friends, or just get some work done.

Tov

Coffee shop · Sunnyside

Experience some of Portland's weird charm while sipping a hot coffee in this double decker bus. Tasty coffee and a great atmosphere.

An Xuyen Bakery

Bakery · Foster-Powell

Okay this is my last mention of banh mi but they also make pretty great banh mi if you're in this part of town. HOWEVER, my favorite part of An Xuyen is the pastry goodies!! I LOVE me some baked buns and desserts. The guava cookies taste fantastic, especially if you heat them up and have some milk!

Pho Nguyen

Vietnamese Restaurant · Raleigh Hills

This Vietnamese restaurant has absolutely ruined Vietnamese rice plate dishes for me. I cannot have com thit nuong (rice with grilled pork) anywhere else. My dad also swears by the pho and he's pretty picky about where he eats. These are all subjective opinions of course though, but they are run by lovely people and are worth a try!

Bun Bo Hue

Vietnamese restaurant · Montavilla

Love this place on a chilly, rainy day. The atmosphere is warm and comfy like I'm eating at an auntie's house. The staff are kind and friendly. The bun bo hue is like a warm hug for my stomach. Great place for Vietnamese dishes if mama doesn't want to cook haha.

The House of Banh Mi

Vietnamese restaurant · Montavilla

Love to get my banh mi fix here if I'm on this side of town.

Tan Tan Cafe

Vietnamese restaurant · Beaverton

This is my number one spot for banh mi, but they serve other Viet dishes too. Could just be cause I grew up eating their Vietnamese sandwiches, but I really love this place and the kind staff who have been running the place for decades.

Spring Restaurant

Korean restaurant · Beaverton

Don't be fooled by the market front, this place is hiding a homey little restaurant upstairs with GENEROUS servings of comforting Korean food. And when you're done, you can go shopping downstairs in the G-Mart! The staff are so lovely and the food always hits. Come hungry!!

Honey Spicy

Korean restaurant · Tigard

I love friend chicken... This place excels with their fried chicken... Their rice bowl will for sure put you in a food coma though, so be prepared.

Du-Kuh-Bee Noodle

Korean restaurant · Hollywood

Sad their original Beaverton location closed but you can still get their famous hand-pulled noodles here!

Kale

Japanese Curry Restaurant · Chinatown

I love me a good katsu curry. This place is it.

808 Grinds Hawaiian Cafe

Hawaiian restaurant · Washington County

In my opinion, this is the best Hawaiian food in the tri-county area. Servings are generous and it just really hits the spot.

Bao Bao

Restaurant · Kerns

Sometimes simple is best. They excel in what they do so make sure to enjoy some good, fresh baos and whatever else your heart desires.

Mr Bento Burger

Hamburger restaurant · Hillsboro

I've had a lot of burgers in life but I never crave them like I crave a Mr Bento Burger. Their burgers are seriously something else. Just try it (please).

PDX Sliders

Hamburger restaurant · Richmond

Fun place to chat with friends and enjoy sliders that pack a big punch of flavors. Fries are delicious too.

Pine State Biscuits

Permanently Closed

BOMB fried chicken and biscuits with gravy. There are multiple locations to choose from as well scattered around the Portland area, so no worries if one is busy.

Screen Door

Southern restaurant (US) · Kerns

Honestly a pretty busy and maybe over-hyped place but good to try at least once in the Portland area since it's a brunch staple. Have a nice hearty helping of chicken and waffles!

SteepleJack Brewing Co.

Brewery · Sullivan's Gulch

Beautiful interior with a great atmosphere. Can get a tad loud sitting inside but overall a great place to enjoy beers and good food.

Great Notion Brewing

Brewery · Northwest Industrial

Beers on beers on beers. Treat yourself to wonderful IPAs and a plethora of sours and fruit beers to keep you on your toes.

St. Johns Bridge

Bridge · Willamette River

In my opinion, the most beautiful bridge in the city of Portland, which is well known for its many bridges. There's a park area underneath the bridge (Cathedral Park) with lots of open space to enjoy by the water. This north Portland area is also not as busy or crowded, so it's easy to enjoy some peace and quiet.

Peninsula Park / Rose Garden

Garden · Piedmont

I personally love this alternative to the International Rose Garden. It's a beautiful park that is peaceful, quiet, and easy to enjoy the roses when they're in bloom. Sitting by the fountain or under the gazebo on a hot, sunny day feels nice.
