"With its fairy-tale silhouette and its stone turret, Burg Schwarzenstein looks for all the world like a medieval castle. It was actually built in 1873 as a summer home for a German noble family and later transformed into a luxurious hotel with English-style gardens and sweeping views over the Rhine Valley. Seven rooms with period details — exposed stone, wooden beams, four-poster beds draped in silk canopies — are located in the main building and its castle tower, though most are housed in the modern Park Residence or the cottage-like Guest House a short stroll away.
