"Jenevein’s, an authentic Cajun eatery, is coming to Frisco this summer thanks to a Louisiana native. The forthcoming restaurant at 360 Stonebrook Pkwy. will be serving a menu of traditional NOLA favorites like catfish baskets, gumbo, po’ boys, Creole chicken, plus roast beef “debris,” adopted from Bear’s, a restaurant north of New Orleans, which is owner Mandy Jenevein’s favorite restaurant, CultureMap reports. She was inspired to open up Jenevein’s after a craving for Bear’s hit her one day. “I called my brother in Pennsylvania and said, ‘What would you do for a Bear’s roast beef right now?’” she told CultureMap. “I’ve been in the oil and gas industry for 14 years, and I wasn’t feeling the passion... I got off the phone and thought if I don’t do something now, I’m never going to do it.” Jenevein’s brother and father are partners in the business, and she snagged a chef from Bear’s to head up the kitchen at Jenevein’s. Much of Bear’s menu is coming to Frisco in-tact with some twists from Jenevein’s mother. The menu will feature classics like jambalaya and etouffee along with salads, burgers, sandwiches, fried pickles, and Cajun cheese fries topped with gravy and the ends of chopped roast beef, known as “debris.” No word yet on an official opening date and hours of operation. Stay tuned as that information becomes available." - Alaena Hostetter
