"A brunch favorite, the Ruby Slipper Cafe is expanding into Metairie by taking over the space on Metairie Road currently occupied by Ralph Brennan’s Cafe B, which is set to close at the end of the year after deciding not to renew its lease; the Ruby Slipper is slated to open in spring 2019. The menu will remain the same as at other locations, featuring barbecue shrimp or catfish with grits, biscuits and gravy, stuffed French toasts, and a host of hollandaise-laden Benedicts, and the Old Metairie location will keep similar early-morning-through-mid-afternoon brunch hours. This will be the chain’s seventh location in the New Orleans area and its eleventh overall, with other restaurants in Baton Rouge, Mobile, Orange Beach, and Pensacola; owners Jennifer and Erich Weishaupt also have a new concept, Ruby Sunshine, coming to Franklin, Tennessee in early 2019." - Tim Forster
