"I visited Louisiana’s first Shake Shack in Metairie today; known for its hormone-and-antibiotic-free burgers, chicken, and hot dogs, the location at Veterans Memorial Boulevard and Severn Avenue adds local beers (Abita Brewery, NOLA Brewing, Dixie and Second Line Brewing), frozen custards made with Haydel’s Bakery ingredients, and a partnership with the Louisiana SPCA. The burger chain takes over the former location of Lager’s International House, and the Metairie Shack at 3501 Veterans Memorial Boulevard is open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m." - Clair Lorell
