"Mazi is the latest addition to Built on Hospitality’s lineup, following Chief’s and Folia. At the helm is chef Whit Thomas, coming to Charlotte from Season 23 of Hell’s Kitchen. Her and executive chef Chris Coleman’s menu strays away from Coleman’s Southern classics and veers more toward Mediterranean small plates. Have fun with the food: Eat the lion’s mane mushroom shawarma by hand; suck the rich juice from the prawn heads; and spoon the toasty, golden-hued baklava sundae again and again.
