"Fans of longtime Commander’s Palace chef Tory McPhail will be happy to know that he has landed just down from Rosemary at a polished oyster bar and restaurant in the blindingly white Alys Beach (bring sunglasses) community. Dinner at the Citizen is an opulent affair, with seafood towers studded with Florida lobster, she crab soup, and wild sea scallops with sticky lemon lacquer. As the culinary director for the growing restaurant group Quest Hospitality, McPhail oversees The Citizen as well as The Fonville Press, a cute grab-and-go spot with coffee, high-end grocery items, and a cocktail bar.
