"After five years of serving both the UC Berkeley community and local residents, I learned that chef Charles Phan will close his East Bay restaurant Rice & Bones on Friday, May 12; the doors will officially close at 5 p.m. that day because the chef says the “current economic climate” makes maintaining the restaurant increasingly difficult.
