National Pancake Day Is the Only Worthwhile Food Holiday

"An annual National Pancake Day promotion offers a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes (typically worth about $4) through the evening cutoff (until 7 p.m.) in exchange for a suggested donation to one of three charity partners—Children’s Miracle Network, Shriners Hospitals for Children, or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The fundraiser has a history of large-scale impact: last year the chain gave away five million pancakes and set a $5 million goal to benefit children’s hospitals and health organizations nationwide, and patrons are encouraged, when possible, to add a few extra dollars to their tab to support the cause." - Clint Rainey
