"Dreamed up by Franklin Barbecue pitmaster Aaron Franklin and Uchi chef Tyson Cole, Loro Asian Smokehouse and Bar is opening a second Dallas-area location in Addison's Prestonwood Place, with doors set to open Wednesday, December 14. Hai Hospitality CEO Tony Montero says the site offered the right energy and restaurant neighbors, and the Addison space will feature an even bigger patio with more trees and an outdoor bar—more akin to the Austin location—plus opening and happy hour parties. The kitchen will be led by chef de cuisine Arturo Hernandez from El Paso, who says, "My favorite dish is our brisket," and describes it as uniquely flavored by mild spice from their chili oil, sweetness from pickled red onions, and freshness from the Trinity herbs. The menu will be the same as in Dallas for the time being; unlike Dallas’s recent table-order option, Addison will follow the Texas barbecue joint standard of ordering at the bar to create the excitement and vibe the team wants. For the first five days the Addison location will give away 100 Yeti tumblers to the first 100 guests each day and hold a drawing for a party of ten in which one person will get to work with the pitmaster to smoke their own brisket." - Courtney E.
